Coal wagon of the Dutch Railways including a load of two containers with fruit, one wooden crate and typical Dutch bicycle.

History

These coal wagons were built time between 1924 en 1929 mainly for the transport of coal. Thousands of these wagons were built. Originally they were painted in a anthracite gray colour. In the fifties this colour was replaced by freight wagon brown. They operated until the late sixties. Of all these coal wagons only 3 are left. One at the Museumstoomtram Hoorn – Medenblik (SHM) and two at the Museum Buurt Spoorweg Haaksbergen (MBS).
